Carbon Nurture Mulch Film - Handling and Storage Instructions  

We recommend that you follow the guidelines below to achieve the best results with Carbon Nurture mulch film:

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high moisture areas to maintain shelf stability. We recommend you keep the mulch film in its original packaging until ready for use to prevent unnecessary exposure.  

 

Fertilizing

  • If using pelleted fertilizer, apply it before laying the mulch film. 

  • If using a fertigation system, inject fertilizer through the irrigation system as needed. 

  • For overhead irrigation, monitor soil moisture frequently to ensure optimal hydration for crops. 

  • Be aware that chemical applications may alter the mulch film’s degradation rate. 

 

Installation

  • Install the mulch film in an already tilled or cultivated dry soil free of large clumps and debris.  

  • Ensure the field is well-leveled and free of sharp objects that could puncture the mulch film.  

  • Install the mulch film using the same method as conventional plastic mulch. Our product is highly durable and resistant to tearing.  

  • Secure edges properly with soil or other techniques to prevent lifting during the season.  

  • For the best results, plant within 2-3 weeks after installation of mulch film. The time can be extended if needed.  

  • For optimal results and water retention, install drip irrigation under the mulch film.

Usage Considerations

  • The mulch film is expected to degrade over 4-6 months.* If long-term coverage is needed, please consider a different product.  

  • Please refer to our website and Product Performance and Testing Information for additional details about our mulch film.  

  • Please note that unless otherwise specifically stated in the product description, organic farmers should remove the mulch film from the field as they would with traditional nondegradable mulch film.
